Beginning on November 3, 2017, Canada’s second-largest airline, WestJet, will begin operating its brand-new non-stop flight from the international airport in Calgary, Alberta (YYC) to the Philip Goldson international airport in Belize City (BZE).
The new Calgary-Belize route will be operated once per week and will continue throughout the 2017/18 winter season. The Calgary-Belize route is WestJet’s second foray into the lucrative Belize travel market, the airline already operating a non-stop flight from Toronto’s Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to Belize since October 2016.
Arch rival Air Canada, the country’s largest airline, responded to WestJet’s new routes by announcing that it will begin flying from Toronto Belize beginning on December 15, 2017. Flight times from both Toronto and Calgary to Belize average around five and a half hours. Canadians with a valid passport do not need a visa to visit Belize for up to 30 days.
Belize is a small country located on the mainland of Central America but with a long Caribbean coastline and more than 100 offshore islands. The country has the lowest population density in the region and is a wonderland of pristine rivers, lush rainforests, verdant jungles teeming with exotic wildlife, and vast protected marine areas that are popular locations for snorkeling, swimming, fishing, and sailing.
As the only country in the area where English is the official language, Belize is very accessible for Canadians. And thanks to its geographic location, the winter months in Belize are a time of abundant sunshine and balmy temperatures perfect for exploring the great outdoors, swimming, or simply lounging by the beach.
Located in San Ignacio in the eco-tourism center of mainland Belize, Cahal Pech Village Resort is the perfect place for Canadians who want to escape the cold winter weather back home and enjoy a fabulous vacation in Belize.
With lovely thatched roofed rooms and suites, Cahal Pech offers guests a complete range of amenities, including a gourmet restaurant, freshwater swimming pool, and spacious conference center. Cahal Pech is conveniently located close to top attractions in the country, including ancient Maya ruins, national parks, animal sanctuaries, and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Tikal just over the border in neighboring Guatemala.
Cahal Pech offers Canadian travelers a wide range of Belize beach and jungle packages that include lodging and activities on both the mainland and the country’s offshore islands.
Cahal Pech is currently offering 20% off all accommodations from now to November 30, 2017.Cahal Pech Welcomes new WestJet Direct Flight From Calgary to Belize by admin
