Cooling rain showers often appear in the morning to wash away the day's humidity and trade winds from the Caribbean keep the weather ideal for swimming, sailing, snorkeling or simply relaxing on the beach.
San Ignacio Town is the bustling cultural and entertainment capital of Belize's western Cayo District. The town's farmer's market is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike due to its rich mix of foods, handicrafts, handmade clothes and even traditional medicines on sale. Beyond the town limits of San Ignacio lie some of the most popular Maya ruins in Belize, including Cahal Pech, Caracol, El Pilar and Xunantunich. And just over the border in neighboring Guatemala is the UNESCO World Heritage site of Tikal, home to some of the most impressive Maya ruins ever discovered.
