Why visit Belize in June and July? Because you can!

With plenty of sunny weather, gorgeous beaches, and some of the most fabulous food in the world, there's no better time to enjoy a vacation in Belize than June and July. Whether you're looking for exciting activities for the whole family or want to enjoy a romantic getaway honeymoon or wedding, you won't have to battle crowds in Belize during the summer.

With hundreds of islands and a long coastline on the Caribbean, Belize has always had a strong fishing culture. June and July are ideal months to visit the country to attend the many festivals that herald the opening of lobster season. Whether you like your lobster steamed and served with drawn butter or want to try more exotic variations like lobster curry and spicy lobster soup, there's no better place to enjoy the world's favorite crustacean than by attending a lobster festival in Belizean towns like San Pedro, Caye Caulker and Placencia.

Summer is an ideal time to visit Belize thanks to an abundance of wonderful weather. Daytime highs average between 82 and 86 degrees Fahrenheit (28-30 C). Refreshing breezes at night keep evening temperatures averaging a very pleasant 78 F (26C). Cooling rain showers often appear in the morning to wash away the day's humidity and trade winds from the Caribbean keep the weather ideal for swimming, sailing, snorkeling or simply relaxing on the beach.

San Ignacio Town is the bustling cultural and entertainment capital of Belize's western Cayo District. The town's farmer's market is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike due to its rich mix of foods, handicrafts, handmade clothes and even traditional medicines on sale. Beyond the town limits of San Ignacio lie some of the most popular Maya ruins in Belize, including Cahal Pech, Caracol, El Pilar and Xunantunich. And just over the border in neighboring Guatemala is the UNESCO World Heritage site of Tikal, home to some of the most impressive Maya ruins ever discovered.
