The summer is meant to be spent out in nature soaking up everything life has to offer, and that's especially true after we've spent a year cooped up in our homes. You won't find a more beautiful adventure destination than Belize, and you'll find a lot more than just that.
Why the Summer?
A majority of vacationers decide to visit Belize in the winter as a way to escape the frigid climes where they live, but that's exactly the reason why summer is the perfect time to visit. Since it's the off-season, prices are significantly cheaper — and that extends to lodgings, food, and plane tickets.
And coming in the summer means you'll also be able to explore Belize at your leisure without always being overwhelmed by throngs of tourists hogging the beaches and dominating every stretch of beauty with selfies. Popular towns like San Pedro are completely different when they aren't overwhelmed by visitors, and even inland communities like San Ignacio give off a different vibe.
What About the Wet Season?
The main argument about not visiting during the summer is that it falls during Belize's green season, but that's hardly an argument at all — at least as long as you're careful about planning your trip. Hurricanes aren't an uncommon sight in Belize, but they tend to fall much later in the summer or in the autumn and are known of well in advance.
And while the summer does bring with it greater rainfall than the other seasons, it's also more a convenience than an impediment. Rain showers tend to be most common late at night or earlier in the morning, creating a more pleasant temperature while not interrupting daily activities. Pack for rain, but don't expect it to be the de facto condition for your stay.
Where's the Best Place to Stay in Belize?
Coastal Belize and the islands offer plenty of opportunities for sprawling out on the beach and splashing in the sun, but there's something special about the interior of Belize. Cahal Pech Village Resort is easy to reach from Belize City and provides ready access to the ATM Cave and Cahal Pech archaeological site as well as a wide variety of jungle activities. You can book a summer package directly through our site as we are offering 15% off all accommodations from now until December 15, 2021. There's no better way to celebrate our liberation from a year spent in isolation than in the stunning country of Belize.
