Is it safe to travel to Belize right now

Belize is the only Central American country without a coastline on the Pacific Ocean. Instead, the country offers a scenic coastline along the Caribbean Sea. The beaches in this country offer travelers a plethora of activities such as snorkeling, scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, and many more attractions.

Apart from the water adventures, Belize also gives you a chance to explore what lies within the vast jungles covered by exotic plants and filled with different animal species. Also, if you enjoy culture and history, the ancient Maya temples are the perfect match for you, as you get to explore the various ruins and interact with locals.

Belize strikes a perfect balance when it comes to tourist attractions, and it’s an ecotourism destination. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the government put up some policies and guidelines, which made traveling to the country very stringent. However, now all of the rules have been lifted, making it possible to travel to Belize as a tourist. So, if you’re interested in traveling to Belize in 2023, start preparing for Belize’s warm, friendly and welcoming population and diverse attractions.

But, before that, you need to know how safe Belize is for travelers and some of the things you should do to stay safe throughout your visit.

How safe is Belize

How Safe is Belize?

Belize has so many natural points and that’s why it’s a popular destination for travelers. Tourists are never the target of crime in Belize, so, it’s good to conclude that most of the tourist areas are safe. However, petty crime is one of the main problems in Belize and anyone can fall victim to it. As a result, some areas in the country are classified as ‘crime-hidden’ and you should avoid them.

As a tourist, ensure you stay up to date with current events and exercise a few precautions. But generally, Belize is safe to visit.

Safety Precautions in Belize

Although the country is safe for tourists, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be careful. You have to take care of yourself and your property as you explore the country and here are a few safety tips:

• Get travel insurance for you to remain protected against injury, theft, or canceled flights

• Avoid isolated areas and be aware of your surrounding at all times

• Avoid traveling by bus at night, instead, take a taxi for your safety

• Don’t wear any flashy items because petty theft is common in Belize

• Stick to the specific touristy parts of the country, and if possible, get a tour guide for this

• Never leave your items unattended

Is Belize Open For Travel

Now that you’ve done your research and found that Belize is safe to visit, it’s time to start preparing for your trip. As you do that, remember to book your accommodation at Cahal Pech Village Resort. The resort offers you the best Belizean experience, whether it’s exploring ancient Maya cities, zip-lining through the rainforest, cave tubing, bird watching, hiking, and canoeing. These are just a few of the tours and activities offered by Cahal Pech Village Resort and there’s much more.
