February in Belize

With plenty of warm breezes and long, sunny days, it's no wonder that more and more people are choosing to escape the snow, ice, and cold to enjoy a lovely February vacation in Belize.

If the balmy temperatures weren't enough reason, here are more reasons why February is the perfect time to visit Belize:

Visit the San Ignacio Market

The best way to enjoy some local color is to visit the thriving hub of the San Ignacio Market. Farmers, craftsmen, and artists come from all over the country every Saturday to peddle their ways, catch up with friends, and sample the wondrous assortment of foods, goods, crafts, and even homemade medicines on sale at the market.

Explore Maya Ruins

Just minutes from San Ignacio Town lie the ruins of Cahal Pech. Originally built as a residence for Maya elites, the ruins of Cahal Pech enjoy a magnificent view of the confluence of the Macal and Mopan Rivers.

Other nearby sites include Xunantunich where a recent archeological expedition uncovered the largest Maya royal tomb ever discovered as well as hieroglyphs that may be the key to unlocking one of the most important eras of Maya history.

Valentine's Day

Far more than just an opportunity to exchange greeting cards, February 14 is a very popular celebration in Belize. Valentine's Day is a time when teddy bears, chocolates, roses, and other sweet gifts are exchanged amidst soaring declarations of love and fidelity.

Work on Your Tan

Icy winds might be blowing in North America, but Belize will enjoy sunny days of around 80 degrees Fahrenheit (27 Celsius) and nights rarely colder than 70 degrees (21 Celsius), so bring your swim suit, towel, and sunscreen with you when you visit Belize in February.

Cahal Pech

Located just minutes from San Ignacio Town, the Cahal Pech Village Resort is one of the best places to stay when exploring Cayo District in western Belize. Featuring lovely thatched-roof cabanas, an onsite gourmet restaurant, and three swimming pools, Cahal Pech offers guests comprehensive reef and rainforest packages that allow travelers to see the best of both worlds in Belize.

Cahal Pech can arrange for beachfront accommodations in Placencia, Caye Caulker, or Ambergris Caye while exploring all of the attractions that the Belize Barrier Reef has to offer.
