Popular no-frills airline Southwest has announced that they will be offering non-stop service from Denver International Airport (DEN) to Belize City (BZE) starting next year. Just in time for the spring break vacation season, the new Southwest flights connecting Denver to Belize City will operate every Saturday from March 11 to April 22, 2017 on a trial basis. The flights will depart from Denver at 10:30 AM and arrive in Belize at 2:50 PM local time, operating 737-700 aircraft equipped with 143 seats.
"More than 13,000 Denver-area residents visited Belize last year," said Denver International Airport CEO Kim Day, "And we look forward to adding Belize City as part of our expanding network of international destinations." Southwest currently operates non-stop service to Belize City from the Houston Hobby Airport in Texas. The newly-announced Southwest route from Denver to Belize City will join an ever-expanding market as the small Central American country currently offers connections to many several cities in the United States, Mexico, Guatemala, Panama, and El Salvador.
