Belize may be a small country nestled between Mexico and Guatemala in Central America, but it is rapidly becoming one of the most popular visitor destinations in the region. Visitors to Belize can enjoy everything from world-class scuba diving and snorkeling on the Belize Barrier Reef to explorations of the jungle, including visiting ancient Maya ruins hidden deep in the rainforest.

It's no surprise that Belize has started to garner a lot of favorable press from leading travel publications. Lonely Planet recently ranked Belize as one of the top destinations to visit in 2022.  And both MSN and the New York Times also recommended readers to visit Belize this year.

Some of the top attractions in Belize include:

Beaches -

Beaches abound in many countries, but Belize is blessed with more than 180 miles of gorgeous Caribbean coastline, to say nothing of hundreds of postcard-perfect tropical islands.

Dangriga and Hopkins Village -

Located in the southeastern part of the country, these two settlements are the beating heart of Belize's cultural and musical scene.

Scuba Diving and Snorkeling -

Coral reefs make up just a tiny portion of the ocean's surface but are home to a whopping 25% of all marine life. The Belize Barrier Reef, part of the second-largest barrier reef in the world, is home to world-class opportunities to scuba dive and snorkel. Famed French marine biologist Jacques Cousteau rated the Belize Blue Hole on the reef as one of his top 10 dive spots on the planet.

Nature and Wildlife -

More than a third of Belize is set aside as a protected nature reserve or national park. The pristine landscape is teeming with wildlife, including toucans, parrots, monkeys, and even jaguars.

Growing Popularity

Belize continues to be one of the hottest vacation destinations in the region and it is easy to get to from North America. Some of the top airlines that service Belize are United, American Airlines, and Southwest.

Cahal Pech Village Resort

Cahal Pech Village Resort, located just minutes from San Ignacio, the eco-tourism capital of Belize, is a great resort to enjoy and experience all the best that the country has to offer. Cahal Pech offers jungle and reef packages that combine the best of offshore and mainland attractions and have a professional staff of travel professionals standing by to help visitors create the perfect Belize vacation itinerary.
