The travel section of The Huffington Post website has ranked Caye Caulker as one of the top 10 most luxurious islands in the world.
"We've never had such a good excuse to ditch the real world. We're moving (or at least taking a super long vacation) to the tropics, " states the article which was published on August 1st 2014 and has been shared more than 1000 times on Facebook.
Fiji, Philippines, Malaysia, Honduras, Thailand, Mexico, Cook Islands, Panama, Florida were the other countries that made it on the list.
For those who do not know, Caye Caulker is Ambergris Caye’s little sister island however it is smaller, laid-back, and its attractions are smaller in scale than Ambergris Caye. There are no cars on Caye Caulker, only golf carts, bikes and foot traffic – which accounts for the “Go Slow” signs affixed to several of the island’s palm trees.
