With the silver medal firmly clenched in her hand, American gymnast Aly Raisman turned to her teammate, gold medal-winning superstar Simon Biles, and joked about inviting herself to Biles's upcoming vacation to Belize.
"I'm definitely going to crash her homecoming," joked Raisman. "Of course, she hasn't invited me yet, but I'm sure it's just an oversight."
Not to be outdone, Biles fired back with a humorous retort, "My mother Nellie has invited her, so we're just waiting for her to accept."
All jokes aside, the Belize Tourism Board is incredibly proud of the accomplishments of the Final Five, especially Biles, who is a dual citizen of Belize and was in the country last year to attend a sibling's wedding. All five women were invited to an all-expenses paid vacation by the Belize Tourism Board.
Biles immediately responded to the generous offer via Twitter, saying, "After we're done winning medals in Rio, you better Belize we're on our way!" adding a heart emoji.
The Final Five consist of Biles, Raisman, Gabby Douglas, Laurie Hernandez, and Madison Kocian. The Final Five won the gold medal in the team event a few days ago and will now compete in the individual apparatus finals in the upcoming days, so they have some additional time in Rio de Janeiro before they can take the Belize Tourism Board up on their offer.
