According to Max Galas of Belize Balloon Rides, the idea behind his company is for Belizeans and visitors to take a ride in the balloon so that they can see the aerial view of Belize City and the pristine beauty that surrounds it. “You can see the cayes, the sea, the river, the structure of the city and the way it comes out and goes in,” Galas told a local media station last week when asked about the purpose of this new initiative which is the first of its kind in Belize.
The balloon ride is also an excellent opportunity to see Belizean nature from the air. “Sometimes [people] want to get away from the world and being up in a balloon is completely different than being up in an airplane. There is no noise. You are exposed to the elements. I get a feeling of serenity when I am up there,” explained Max to the local media.
