On May 3, 2017, Air Canada announced that it will be adding six international routes, including a brand-new non-stop flight from Toronto to Belize. Described as part of Air Canada's strategic global commitment to adding exciting new routes to tropical paradises during the winter months, the new Toronto-Belize Flight will begin on December 15, 2017.
The weekly flight connecting Pearson International (YYZ) and Belize City (BZE) has been welcomed by travel experts who expect ticket prices to fall now that Air Canada, the eight-largest airline in the world, has entered the growing Belize travel market. Rival WestJet has been flying non-stop from Toronto to Belize since October 2016. The new Air Canada flight will run weekly from December 15, 2017, to April 13, 2018.
