Back down the hill, spend the afternoon the slow way: cave tubing on a gentle jungle river or canoeing the Macal, drifting past iguanas and kingfishers. Day Four: Mountain Pine Ridge or the Road to Caracol
Day four heads into the highlands, and you have a glorious choice. Option one: a waterfall day in Mountain Pine Ridge, swimming beneath Big Rock Falls, hopping the granite pools at Rio On and exploring the Rio Frio Cave. Option two: the full expedition to Caracol, the largest ancient Maya city in Belize, deep in the Chiquibul rainforest, with waterfall stops woven in on the way home.
