Today's photo of the day is of the Iguana. The Iguana is a herbivore lizard that is not only native to Belize but also Mexico, Central America, and several islands in Polynesia such as Fiji, Tonga and the Caribbean.
Iguanas are among the largest lizards in the Americas, averaging around 6.5 feet (2 meters) long and weighing about 11 pounds (5 kilograms).
You can spot Iguanas on a Canoe trip on the Macal River or you can visit the Iguana Conservation Project at the San Ignacio Hotel.
