Aeromexico, the national airline of Mexico, has just announced that it will be starting a brand new non-stop flight service to Belize. During the upcoming 2017/18 winter season, Aeromexico will be flying non-stop weekly from Mexico City to Belize City departing each Saturday and Sunday morning at 8:30 AM between November 17, 2018, and April 28, 2019. Flying time between Mexico City and Belize City will be exactly two hours.
Aeromexico's new route to Belize will mark the first time that a Mexican airline will be flying to Belize. Currently, only Belizean airline Tropic Air offers service to and from Mexico from the Cancun International Airport. Aeromexico's announcement comes on the heels of Canadian airline WestJet's decision to add two more flights per week to Belize from Calgary and Toronto during the upcoming winter 2017/18 season, bringing the total to nine weekly flights to Belize for Canadians.
Cahal Pech Village Resort in San Ignacio, Belize warmly welcomes the announcement about Aeromexico's new flights, allowing Mexicans in the greater capital region for the first time to easily visit their southern neighbor. San Ignacio is located in the heart of Belize's eco-tourism region and serves as a great introduction to the wild, natural beauty of the country.
San Ignacio is where all of the different cultures in western Belize meet, including both Spanish and English speakers, making the town very accessible for visitors from Mexico. Several different cultures live in and around San Ignacio, including English-speaking Kriols, Spanish-speaking Mestizos, and German-speaking Mennonite farmers, and their favorite gathering spot is the open-air market, an excellent place for visitors to enjoy an authentic experience of Belize.
Cahal Pech Village Resort is located in San Ignacio with a magnificent view of the Belize River Valley. The resort offers guests lovely thatched-roof accommodations and has a full range of amenities, including a conference center, and a gourmet restaurant popular with locals and visitors alike.
Cahal Pech specializes in trips to the surrounding region, including visiting ancient Maya sites like Tikal (just over the border in Guatemala) and Cahal Pech (a cliffside dwelling for ancient Maya elites located just a stone away from the resort).
Cahal Pech also organized eco-adventures like exploring the depths of the ATM sacred cave, horseback riding, zip lining, rappelling, cave tubing (floating down underground rivers), and having fun swimming and playing in jungle waterfalls.
