The site features several remarkable structures, including the towering High Temple, the Mask Temple adorned with impressive stone carvings, and the Jaguar Temple overlooking the lagoon. Unlike many other Maya sites, Lamanai remained continuously inhabited, even into the colonial period, which adds to its unique historical significance.
