Mountain Pine Ridge

Mountain Pine Ridge is located in the Cayo District, the Mountain Pine Ridge has become one of the more popular destinations in Belize.  Known for its dense Pine forests, cascading waterfalls and smooth granite boulders, the Mountain Pine Ridge tour offers the natural beauty of the inland heart of Belize.

A full day tour of the Mountain Pine Ridge departs from Cahal Pech Village Resort  with your first stop at the Rio Frio Cave system, one of  the first cave structures to be discovered in Belize.

The Rio Frio Cave system has a sandy beach surrounded by large boulders with a clear mountain steam running through. The Rio Frio cave is a half mile long with enormous openings at each end, which makes flashlights unnecessary to view the cave.

Highlight of Mountain Pine Ridge

The waterfall treasure at the Big Rock Falls.  After a quick hike you will behold  the breathtaking sight and sound of the 150 foot intense rush of white water calming into a large swimming hole just below.

We then move on to Rio On Pools, where you can enjoy a wide span of naturally formed pools and cascading falls. Guest can enjoy sunbathing, swimming or getting a unique waterfall massage in several jacuzzi type natural basins.

Another stop is the highest of all the falls, the 1000ft falls, ascending from 1500ft amidst lush flora and fauna. This magnificent fall, the largest in Central America has been proclaimed a National Monument of Belize.

This Mountain Pine Ridge tour can combine with Caracol Mayan Ruins and departs from Cahal Pech Village Resort in the early morning and is inclusive of transportation, guide, park entrance fees and lunch.
